The Windrush Secret, set in 2018, is about a young white far-right racist party leader, a black Caribbean diplomat and a white Oxford educated Home Office government official who are giving speeches on the same day, at different times, in separate locations about a million people who migrated from the Caribbean to Britain between 1948 and 1973 (The Windrush Generation), and the British political scandal which began in 2018.
One of them has a dark secret that he struggles to come to terms with during his fiery speech – it will change his life forever!
Windrush Day is an important event in our annual calendar. We have hosted Windrush Day events to ensure the strength, resilience and courage of the Windrush Generation is never forgotten and it is an honour to celebrate our members of living history.
This year we're working Kent Adult Education learners and schools across Kent to share the stories of the Windrush Generation and have hosted our weekly lunches with friends old and new from Kent and Medway.
We were delighted to host friends and family from the 60up and CPCT Warm Hub for our Windrush Week Lunch filled with games, chat and sharing lifelong memories

We were excited to deliver our first Women of the World project with Cobham Hall School which saw students creating unique artwork and researching stories about women and girls from across the world to highlight gender equality and equity.
Angela White, Teacher of Psychology and Physical Education and
Mental Health and Wellbeing Lead at Cobham Hall said,
"Working with North Kent Caribbean Network, our students created female portrait art pieces to reflect on how art can be used as a tool for social change and awareness. This activity was to raise awareness and introduce students to how gender may silence and disadvantage women in all aspects of our society today.
Students explored and discussed views and opinions around education, sport, the workplace and heath. Interesting conversations were sparked, and together they discussed examples of where these gaps exist, potential barriers, and their impact on women and girls.
Many thanks to Michelle from North Kent Caribbean Network for facilitating the day and giving the students much food for thought."
The portrait pieces and the stories added to our International Women's Day the Padlet were displayed as a Gallery of Art for Kent Police at Bluewater Shopping Centre as part of National Hate Crime Week and will be on display in the Orchard Centre Dartford as part of the Kent Police Violence Against Women and Girls campaign.
