Fitness Programs: Providing free or low-cost group physical exercise, mindfulness and movement classes
Nutrition Education: Providing workshops on healthy eating, cultural specific dietary advice, Food Safety and Food Allergy training
Health Screenings: Providing regular health check-ups, talks and screenings for common conditions like diabetes and hypertension
We aim to partner with local mental health professionals who offer free or subsidised mental health services
Local Support Groups
In addition to creating specific support groups for various issues, we also signpost to local services
Mental Health Awareness
We conduct campaigns to reduce stigma and educate the community about mental health
Community Events
We host a weekly lunch and regular social and cultural celebrations to bring people of all generations together
We celebrate our diverse communities via our online resources and in-person community events
Volunteer Opportunities
We encourage and provide opportunities for our community to volunteer and provide volunteer training to help foster a sense of purpose and connection
Skills-building Workshops
We are dedicated to creating opportunities for lifelong learning and personal development
Access to Services
We sit on the Health Inequalities Steering Group and host regular talks and awareness sessions to ensure all members have access to local health services.
Addressing Wider Determinants of Health & contribution to
Inclusive Policies
We work closely with various agencies and local VCS groups to help develop policies that promote inclusivity and address systemic barriers to health
We continue to develop a range of community resources to share with local charities and community groups, schools and local authorities in addition to hosting information sessions with public services.
Hypertension Heroes is an initiative funded by the NHS
Our volunteers have completed their training and are available every Wednesday between 2.00pm - 4.00pm at Gravesend Adult Education Centre, Darnley Road, DA11 0RX to provide FREE blood pressure readings and show you how to monitor your own blood pressure at home
